The CD AMANTES – SEPHARDIC SONGS refers to the roots of Sephardic music and at the same time shows a modern aspect of Sephardic music as a still living tradition. The songs are performed in the original language of Sephardic people: Ladino but the instruments and arrangements refer also to Spanish as well as to Klezmer music. The project is innovative as far as the sound is concerned. The way the pieces are played is the efect of joining different musical worlds: ancient music, ethno, folk, classical music and jazz. The music is performed on ancient, traditional and classical instruments, which is an exceptional mixture and makes the consort sound unique.
The CD will be published by RIVEIRO Music. The recording was made recorded during the concert at the Concert Studio “S1” of the Polish Radio in Warsaw on 6.11.2010. The concert took place in the range of the project UNDER THE SKY OF SEPHARAD organized in cooperation with the Cervantes Institute and the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Media patronage:
